The Cyprus real estate sector has experienced exceptional growth over the past three years, and the employment consequences extend far beyond estate agents and developers. Construction, architecture, quantity surveying, project management, property management and interior design have all seen significant demand growth as the island builds at a pace not seen since the pre-2012 property boom.

The Drivers Behind Cyprus’s Property Boom

Several converging factors have driven demand: wealthy buyers from the Middle East, Israel, Eastern Europe and the UK seeking a stable EU property market; a growing population of relocated professionals requiring quality accommodation; and an undersupply of modern residential stock in Limassol and Nicosia. The Cyprus Statistical Service reported a 23% increase in property transactions in 2024, with luxury and premium segments significantly outperforming. New planning approvals in 2025 are feeding through to construction starts that will sustain employment demand through 2027.

Which Construction and Real Estate Roles Are Hiring

Civil and structural engineers are the most consistently in demand, with salaries of €38,000–€70,000 reflecting scarcity. Quantity surveyors are particularly short — our guide to quantity surveying careers in Cyprus explains why demand far exceeds supply. Architects earn €32,000–€65,000. Project managers on large-scale developments typically earn €45,000–€80,000. Interior design careers are covered in our luxury property interior design guide. Full benchmarks are in our 2026 salary guide.

Finding Real Estate and Construction Jobs in Cyprus

Developer groups including Cybarco, Pafilia and Leptos Estates advertise roles on their own sites and LinkedIn. Architecture firms, engineering consultancies and PMC companies are smaller but very active hirers — direct approaches are often effective. The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency maintains data on active construction projects which can help identify which developers are growing. Non-EU professionals should review our work permit guide for the process applicable to skilled construction roles.
